Copenhagen, Denmark - October 24, 2017

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) is recognizing Kaspar Basse as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2017 at its Builders + Innovators Summit in Santa Barbara, California.

Goldman Sachs selected Kaspar Basse as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the two-day event. Since 2002, when he opened the first JOE & THE JUICE in the heart of Copenhagen, Basse has been on a mission to change the perception of what to expect from a FMCG brand. With a 100% people focused outlook and unique company culture, JOE & THE JUICE has grown to more than 200 stores across 14 countries. This year alone, JOE & THE JUICE has welcomed more than 800 new employees.

"I am honored by the acknowledgment from Goldman Sachs and it has been a pleasure participating in this year's summit. Meeting and discussing the future of business with talented, likeminded entrepreneurs across industries was inspiring on many levels. Going forward, we will continue to develop and grow JOE & THE JUICE as a company and as a brand. Our key focus will not only be on continuing to make great coffee and juice, but on building a platform that creates opportunities and educates young spirits from all walks of life, empowering them to realize their full potential and increase their focus" said Basse.

JOE & THE JUICE continues to focus on internal training, combined with a challenging and diverse workplace, promoting personal growth and professional development on all levels of the organization. This culture has taken the company from a local juice bar in Copenhagen to a global phenomenon.

With more than 70 stores to open worldwide in 2018 (40 of those in the US alone), JOE & THE JUICE will be expanding its global presence significantly. The company's growth is a testament to the power of a culture fueled by individuality and meaningfulness.

"We are pleased to recognize Kaspar Basse as one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2017," said David M. Solomon, President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs. "This is the sixth year that we've hosted the Builders + Innovators Summit where emerging business leaders gather to discuss their common interests in building prosperous organizations."

For more than 145 years, Goldman Sachs has been advising and financing entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their businesses. In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the Summit consists of general sessions and clinics led by Goldman Sachs experts, seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
